(Courtesy of Israpundit) A Canadian taxpayer-funded coalition of 11 major churches and church agencies is holding a series of public forums in Toronto, which call for divesting from Israel.
The social justice missioned KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives has received $2.9-million from CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) during the past two years.
They have plenty of money to spend on what are euphemistically known as ‘fact-finding missions' to 'Palestine’, an expression which usually translates as ‘hate-holidays to Israel and the disputed territories’
With a generous budget to travel, nine delegates of the coalition signed a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin last March from Jerusalem.
"Since our arrival in Jerusalem on March 17, a number of Palestinians have been killed each day, mainly in Gaza. These are Israeli reprisal killings for the suicide bombing attacks in the port city of Ashdod, just outside of Gaza," delegates wrote to Martin
They are more upset about Israel killing terrorists in self-defence than innocent Israelis murdered by terrorists. In fact, they show no concern at all about the latter. In their letter, ‘a number of Palestinians’ suggests a recognition of the humanity of those killed. The murdered Israeli victims are not referred to. No human beings are recognized in the impersonal term ‘suicide bombing attacks’. The Israelis are dehumanized in the eyes of these delegates.
